The SAA Chess Club, in collaboration with the Bangkok Chess Club, successfully hosted “Sasin Chess Club Night: Play, Learn & Connect”—an engaging evening of strategy, insight, and networking—on Friday, March 6, 2026, at TK Hall, Sasin School of Management.
We were honored to receive opening and welcome remarks from our distinguished guests: Professor Dr. Ian Fenwick, Director of Sasin School of Management; Khun Sahapol Nakvanich, President of the Thailand Chess Association; Khun Kai Tuorila from the Bangkok Chess Club; and Khun Farn Sritrairatana (MBA 1997, DBA 2021), representing the Sasin Alumni Association (SAA).
The evening’s program featured a special fireside chat with Khun Prin Laohawirapap—Thailand’s No. 1 chess player and the country’s first International Master—together with Khun Riste Menkinoski, FIDE Master. The highlight of the night was the Simultaneous (Simul) Chess Exhibition, where Khun Prin took on 12 challengers at once, followed by lively evening games hosted by the Bangkok Chess Club featuring semi-professional players.
The Sasin Alumni Association (SAA) extends its sincere appreciation to Khun Aung Kyaw Moe (EMBA 2006, DBA 2021), Head of the SAA Chess Club, whose dedication and leadership made this memorable event possible. The evening provided a wonderful opportunity for Sasin alumni, current students and chess enthusiasts to learn, exchange insights, and strengthen connections.
